Hey Everyone!
Welcome back to Nia Imani! Today I want to talk about some newness that has hit the net… ColourPop’s No Filter Foundation! I have used it a few times and I am ready to give my two cents. Per the usual, the review will be mostly in bullet point format and it will be straight to the point. This way, we can cut through all the noise and really see if this product is worth the hype! So with that said, let’s jump straight into it!

Let's begin with what ColourPop claims the foundation will do:
  • Oil Free
  • Full Coverage
  • Flawless, Soft-blurring Finish
  • Natural Matte Finish
  • Long-Wearing
  • For all skin types
Moving into the price, packaging, and size for the No Filter Foundation:
  • $12 USD and can be purchased on ColourPop's website. Click the photo above for a link to their site.
  • See Through Glass with a white plastic pump
  • .85 fluid ounces
Now that we have established what ColourPop claims the foundation should do for each user as well as the physical appearance and price, let's move into my personal experience and feelings on the item. I will begin with pros and cons!
Pros:
  • Full Coverage
  • Price Point
  • Color Range
Cons:
  • Longevity
  • Shade Finding Chart
Finally, my rating... 2/5
I am going to rate this foundation a 2/5; this wasn't a very pleasant experience for me. I was truly disappointed in the performance of this foundation, but that wasn't even my first problem. My first issue with this foundation is ColourPop’s shade finder tool. They matched me to the shade 180 which they described as "cool foundation with reddish pink undertones." They also say they are aware this shade is "slightly lighter" than my current foundation which is the Estee Lauder Double Wear in 6W1 Sandalwood. Which I am okay with being that my foundation is currently not fitting me perfectly due to chemical peels. The thing is, the shade they sent me is so pink it almost looks like a nude lipstick on my skin! The other issue, that I kind of touched on earlier, is the longevity of this foundation. It wore off easy on my skin. I noticed it even applied a little patchy. I applied it with a brush, so I am wondering if maybe a sponge would have been better.
All in all, I am not impressed with this foundation. I am willing to purchase another shade and try again, but as of this moment, I don't like this product.

That’s all folks!

Hey Everyone!

Welcome back to Nia Imani! Today's post will be my review for the Maybelline Dream Pure BB cream. This product has been around for a while and I have used it off and on for a few years. I figured it was a great time to give my full review on the product. Let's jump into it!

Let's begin with product claims, price, availability, etc.

  • Maybelline, says...
    • "Our 1st blemish fighting BB cream helps clear skin with 8 great skin benefits!"
    • With 2% salicylic acid
    • For combination and/or blemish-prone skin
  • They claim the BB Cream:
    • Clears acne
    • Conceals imperfections
    • Minimizes look of pores
    • Reduces appearance of redness
    • Adjusts to skin tone
    • Hydrates and Smooths
    • Enhances and clarifies skin
    • Is oil-free, with a lightweight feel
  • This BB Cream comes in 5 shades; I use the shade Deep Sheet Tint.
  • This price listed on Ulta.com is, $8.99 USD. (Ulta only carries 3 shades.)
  • This product comes in a white squeeze tube w/ a blue top.
  • There is 1.0 Fluid Ounce of product in the container.
  • The ingredients: None given
Next up is the pros:
  • Lightweight
  • Demi-Matte Finish
  • Inexpensive
Up next the Cons:
  • Bad Color Selection
  • No very buildable
  • Wears off within 8 hours
How many thumbs up?

I would say 1 thumb up...

Final Thoughts?

I like this product but, there isn't anything special about this BB cream.

Would you re-purchase it?

Probably not. I did enjoy the lightweight feel and light coverage however, I have since found a product that works better for me. I would say this is nice for a younger crowd. If you're over twenty, I would recommend either Estee Lauder's Double Wear Nude Water Fresh SPF 30 Makeup or MAC Face and Body Foundation.
